EXHIBITION BY EMILIE LYNCH WILLIAMS AND INDIA COPLEY

Emilie Lynch Williams and India Copley are both Textile Designers. They were extremely lucky to have the opportunity to travel to and live in Sweden for six months. This collection of tufting, drawings and collages were created whilst they were in Borås, a small and picturesque city in Sweden, which is surrounded by beautiful woodlands and lakes. They were hugely inspired and infatuated by the nature and environment around them, which was immensely opposite to the hustle and bustle of London. By combining their passion for textiles with this new vision they were able to create these unique, three dimensional wall pieces which bring a little bit of harmonious Sweden to London.

Also inspired by travel, Emilie’s prints, which include a range of different techniques, including screen printing, polychromatic printing, and digital printing were inspired by a much warmer trip to Croatia. Whilst there she collected unwanted and discarded objects that littered the beaches. With colour and shape reference from these found objects she was able to convert them into charming and vibrant artworks, which come together as a collection of six prints.
